Botulinum toxin, such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, sometimes known as “tox or toxin”, is a neurotoxin that reduces wrinkles by blocking nerve signals to muscles. This temporarily paralyzes muscles, which can help prevent new wrinkles and soften existing ones. It is used for wrinkles in faces, but also for muscular tension or spasm in other areas of the body.
Botulinum toxin is broken down into amino acids and either recycled for use in other proteins, or excreted by the kidneys.
Dermal FIllers help provide volume in areas that hollow out as we age, plump lips shtat have flattened, or smooth where wrinkles have set in.
